Not even the anticipation of the Matildas win could distract Luminary, Hardhat and Devotion from our Fred's Big Run Agency Challenge last week. We’re on a mission to run/walk to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation, and if we happen to beat a couple of agency friends... then so be it 😉Week 2 saw Hardhat take the lead, averaging 51.4km/person in just two weeks, leaving Luminary and Devotion in the dust to fight it out for second place, with only a few kilometres between us at 32.5km (Luminary) and 36.4km (Devotion). Hardhat, you will need more than a hard hat to hold your place at the top. We're going to make up that difference! Are you with us, Devotion? Here are some quick stats for those playing at home:🏃♂️Luminary - $9,658, 1,738kms across 50 team members🏃♂️Devotion - $2,297, 517kms across 13 team members🏃♂️Hardhat - $1,089, 411kms across 8 team membersWeek 3, LET'S GO! 💪 #FredsBigRun #FBRAgencyChallenge

Help with one last push to raise much needed funds to help the Black Dog Institute do the great work it does in the mental health space. As you would know I put up a lot of posts to try and change attitudes to mental health especially in our workplaces. But this Sunday I am going to use my legs and not just my words to try and make a difference and raise some money for the Black Dog Institute at the same time.I am running in the Sydney Stadium Stomp. The full course event is a total of 7700 stairs covering both the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. But never being someone to do things by halves, and to encourage you to dig deep and donate to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute I am doing Stadium Stomp Unlimited. This means I will keep doing laps of the two stadiums (up and down every single stair) until I can't do anymore. I am aiming for at least two laps and hope fully three or more of each stadium, which would be more than 21,000 stairs. Now doesn't deserve a little bit of support and a bit of a donation to make the effort worthwhile.Donations are tax deductible in Australia.I have passed my initial fundraising target of $1000 to help Black Dog Institute. So please help me raise even more money by making a donation through my page and help me raise so much more. Hit the link below to donateMental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.By making a donation you are helping Black Dog turn their world-class research into life-saving action for those who need it most. Your support helps to fund education programs, digital tools and apps, clinical services and community webinars.Thank you, I really appreciate your support.

Over the weekend, I was able to celebrate the work of the Indiana University Dance Marathonin 2023 ahead of Indiana’s clash against Penn State at Simon Skojdt Assembly Hall. While I have been transitioning out of my post as the Director of Corporate Relations over the past few months, I wanted to reflect on some of the lessons I learned from my tenure. 1. Relationships Matter - Establishing and nurturing robust connections is essential for effective leadership, especially when working collaboratively with a diverse set of individuals. In my role, this involved 22 other student leaders on the executive council, 7 chairpersons and 60+ committee members on my committee, and a portfolio of numerous businesses from across the nation. Fostering positive relationships with each of these groups is crucial, as it plays a vital role in achieving our common goal of contributing to lifesaving efforts for kids in need at Riley Hospital for Children. The utilization of authentic connections served as a pivotal factor in attaining shared objectives between stakeholders. 2. Be Decisive- Being decisive entails not only making informed and timely choices but also acting proactively based on data. Striking a balance between gathering sufficient information and avoiding prolonged decision-making processes is essential for progress. A decisive leader showcases confidence and clarity in their choices, fostering momentum and direction for the team. This approach not only instills a sense of purpose but also encourages proactive decision-making among team members. 3. Keep The Faith - Maintaining a positive and optimistic mindset, especially during challenging times, is crucial for leadership. Believing in the mission and vision of your organization can inspire others and help overcome obstacles. Acknowledging the highest of highs and the lowest of lows over the course of my tenure on the executive council added depth to this perspective. It was a year filled with both triumphs and tribulations. The journey, however, became meaningful through the unwavering support of my colleagues. Standing by each other during tough times and celebrating victories together forged a strong sense of camaraderie. While the frustrations of unproductive efforts were present, this collective perseverance made every endeavor worthwhile. In the end, the elation of celebrating the accomplishment of raising over $3 million for lifesaving healthcare with my best friends eclipsed everything, making the entire experience incredibly fulfilling. My time in IUDM was truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. It made me a better marketer, better leader, and most importantly, a better man. I will always look fondly at my time in the organization and I am incredibly grateful to FORVIS, Allied Solutions LLC, Solution Tree, Graduate Hotels, Mom Water, HospitalRecruiting, Papa Johns, and countless other partners for their generous support over the years.Go Hoosiers and FTK!

Sidemen Charity Match Breaks Live Viewership Records Again! 🌍🏆The Sidemen Charity Match has surpassed its own record once again! After setting a world record in 2022 as the most viewed livestreamed sporting event on YouTube, the 2023 match has outshone that feat. It was an honor to serve RaiseUp Families as their Executive Director for nearly 4 years. In that time, the organization experienced unprecedented growth:✅ Expanded Board of Directors by 50% ✅ Doubled the number of families (clients) being served ✅ Client outcomes improved by 100% (average income increase in signature 9-month HandUp program went from 35% - 71%) ✅ Client graduation rate improved from 80% to 91%✅ Revenue growth from $450,000 to $1,000,015 (donations from private sources) These outcomes are a result of the Board of Directors and staff working together towards a common goal, each person utilizing their unique skills and abilities in their individual role to help the bus arrive at its desired destination. They are the result of hours and hours of innovation, hard work, and determination. As RaiseUp Families celebrates its 30th Anniversary of stabilizing families from vulnerable communities who face unexpected financial crises so their children can focus on their education, giving them the opportunity for a better life, it needs a full-time leader with passion, vision, and experience to lead it forward. I could not be happier that Kate Yadan will pick up this torch and lead RaiseUp into the future! "We know that change is a natural part of life, and those who embrace it grow while those who do not slowly die, metaphorically. Two of the largest obstacles to change are ego and pride. Moving out of our own way is the toughest battle most of us will face. Giving up our seat for someone else, stepping down when it's time for someone else to step up, and gracefully exiting when we have added all the value we can, are what we should all strive for." -Angela Burgess, Are You on the Right Bus?
