Top 10 Best Food Buffs in ESO 2024 [Recipe's Included] (2025)

ESO Food recipes like Artaeum Takeaway Broth, Ghastly Eye Bowl, and Bewitched Sugar Skulls are a big part of combat success in the Elder Scrolls Online. When it comes to buffs and debuffs, the biggest passive buff you can get comes from Foods or Drinks.

That’s why I’ll give you the 10 best Food Buffs in ESO 2024, complete with recipes and where you can find the ingredients to make them.

The difference between this list and others you might find on a Google search for best Food buffs in ESO 2024, is that I play The Elder Scrolls Online and have been playing since Beta back in 2014.
That’s why I tried and tested all the best combinations of buffs in my builds, and you get to skip all that trial and error and just get the best foods in ESO 2024.

Best Food Buffs in ESO for Magicka Damage Dealers 2024

Ghastly Eye Bowl has been around for a long time but has never been of any use. That however changed with the Flames of Ambition update where base Health, Magicka, and Stamina were increased.
Now Ghastly Eye Bowl is the best Magicka Damage Dealer buff in the Elder Scrolls Online. I believe the recipe drops at the Witches Festival and is a very common drop, so you might get it year-round for cheap in guild stores.
Ghastly Eye Bowl buffs you with 4592 Max Magicka and 459 Magicka Recovery. Making this the best food buff in ESO 2024.

Ghastly Eye Bowl recipe: Worms, Fleshy Larva, Bananas, and Rose.

Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl.

The higher your main stat is, the more damage you do, that’s why this unique dish is the best buff food in ESO 2022 for Magicka Damage Dealers.
Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl gives you a 5117 Bonus to your Maximum Magicka, and 5652 to your Max Health pool.
Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl lasts for 2 hours.

You can buy it in guild stores or you can find the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl Recipe yourself and make it. But the recipe can only be found by fishing in Artaeum.
When you fish you can catch Waterlogged Psijic Satchel’s and if the RNG Gods are with you, it will be inside, apparently, I did something to the RNG God and had to fish forever.

Ingredients needed for Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl: Fish, Rice, Glam Gall, and Honey.

Solitude Salmon-Millet Soup

This savory dish, Solitude Salmon-Millet Soup has been with us since the beginning, it just made the Greymore expansion even better we can now visit Western Skyrim and find the city Solitude where this soup was invented.

The Solitude Salmon-Millet Soup gives you 5395 Max Health and 4936 Max Magicka for one hour. It is cheap to make and the recipe can be found for a few hundred golds in Guild Stores across Tamriel.
If you are new to the game or just low on gold, this is the best choice as The Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl is rather expensive to make.

Ingredients for Solitude Salmon-millet Soup: Fish, Tomato, and Millet.

Corrupting Bloody Mara

The Corrupting Bloody Mara was made to take you to stage 4 if you are a Vampire, but no vampires can benefit hugely from this drink buff as well.
Giving 4620 Max Magicka, 5051 Max Health, and 505 Health Recovery.
The main reason this is very good now is because of the armor set Bright-Throat’s Boast, which gives “While you have a drink buff active, increasesmax Magicka by 2000 andMagicka Recoveryby 167”

While most drink buffs mainly boost your recovery stats, and food buffs give you more resources, this drink gives a Magicka DPS high bonuses to resources. Even though it’s a drink this makes the list of best food buffs in ESO.
It reeks of cold blood, brimstone, wood smoke, and alcohol which sounds like a fantasy world whiskey.

Ingredients for Corrupting Bloody Mara: Nightshade, Daedra Heart, Dragon’s Blood, and Frost Mirriam.

Best Food Buffs in ESO For Tanking in 2024

When Tanking we need all 3 resources or if you do a stamina-only tanking build, we need at least Health and Stamina. I prefer Tri-stat food, as I can exchange Magicka for Stamina when using Igneous Shield. Having a larger Magicka Pool gives me the option to spam that and get my Stamina up.
But if have the gold for it, Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch is the best recovery food buff.

Bewitched Sugar Skulls.

The best Tri-stat food available at the moment (February 2024) is the legendary food buff Bewitched Sugar Skulls.
This awesome buff food should be in your bag always, on every character you have, even if you are not a Dragonknight Tank Build you will love this in Cyrodiil!

Ingredients for Bewitched Sugar Skulls: Scrib Jelly, Flour, Columbine, Berves Juice, and Honey.

Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch

As I am writing this, I am not 100% sure if this was the first Legendary food/Drink buff we got in the Elder Scrolls online, but it’s still one of the best food buffs when it comes to Tanking.
As long as you have resources left, you have some fighting in you as a Tank.
Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch gives us Stamina, Magicka, and Health recovery on top of a nice-sized boost to our maximum health.

While the best food buffs in ESO for Damage Dealers need to have their primary stats boosted as well, the primary stat of a Tank is Health.
If you have enough recovery, your pool of stamina does not matter that much. A 1-hand and shield combo with a Froststaff and this food buff will help you never run out of resources.

Ingredients for Orxorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch: Perfect Roe, Tomato, White Cap, Frost Mirriam, and Red Meat.

Longfin Pasty With Melon Sauce.

The alternative to legendary food is almost as good.
Tri-stat Purple food has been around since the beginning of time, every tank used this until we got Bewitched Sugar Skulls the meal with the highest stats, we all used either Withered Tree Inn Venison Pot Roast or Longfin Pasty With Melon Sauce.

They both give the same stat boosts and cost the same to make.
Lasting for 2 hours giving 4462 Max Health and 4105 Max Stamina and Magicka. It is no longer the best food buff, but it’s the best cheap tri-stat food buff you can get.

Best Food Buffs in ESO for Stamina Damage Dealers.

With the Flames of Ambition update, we got a lot more base Maximum Health, and because of that, we can use other food buffs than before. The best for a Stamina Damage Dealer after update 29 is Lava Foot Soup-and-Saltrice.
Giving you 4936 Maximum Stamina and 493 Stamina Recovery. Making this the best food buff for Stamina Damage Dealers.

Pack Leader’s Bone Broth

With a whopping 5051 max Health and a 4620 bonus to Maximum Stamina, the Pack Leader’s Bone Broth is my absolute favorite Stamina DPS Food/Drink Buff in 2021.
With the Vicious Ophidian set that’s been around forever, sustain has never been a problem on Stamina Damage Dealers.
This Legendary Drink is an awesome buff, and not too expensive to make.

This is by far the best food buff in ESO for Stamina Damage Dealer, but let us take a look at some close competitors.

Ingredients for Pack Leader’s Bone Broth: Dragon Bone, Red Meat, Bone, and Frost Mirriam.

Artaeum Takeaway Broth.

This Artaeum Takeaway Broth golden recipe might just be the best food buff for stamina DPS in ESO so far if you have sustained problems. even though some prefer Dubious Camoran Throne which also buffs your stamina and stamina regen, but is cheaper to make.
I will list Dubious Camoran Throne further down in this post.
But Artaeum Takeaway Broth gives higher stats.

You can not buy this recipe, but you can buy the Artaeum Takeaway Broth from anyone who can make it. If you want the recipe you need to go fishing in Artaeum, as they can be found in a water locket.

Artaeum Takeaway Broth Stats:

• Increase Max Health by 3724
• Increase Health recovery by 351
• Increase Max Stamina by 3458
• Increase Stamina Recovery by 319
• Buffs last for 2 hours

Ingredients for Artaeum Takeaway Broth: Fish, Melon, Torchbug Thorax, Powdered Mother of Pearl.

Dubious Camoran Throne.

A good old classic, the Dubious Camoran Throne is still really good.
Giving you Max Health, Max Stamina, and Stamina Recovery while being a drink, makes this work perfectly with the Bone Pirate’s armor set.
“While you have a drink buff active, increaseMax Staminaby 2000 andStamina Recoveryby 167”.

But even without the Bone Pirate’s set, this is still one of the best food buffs in ESO, as it is cheap to make and lasts for 2 hours.
Too many players show up on pick-up group runs without food buffs, giving the healer a hard time keeping them alive and dragging down the group both by dying all the time and doing less damage than they would if they had maxed out their main stats.

ESO can you have a Food and drink buff at the same time?

No, you can either have a food buff or a drink buff active, but not both at the same time.
However, you do not need to, you just have to buy or make the more expensive and best food buffs in ESO that give better stats.

Remember some builds and setups may require specific food buffs to function the best way possible.
